Got a confirmation that Adobe Flash player installed correctly, but ... after restarting my computer, I get an error msg stating that I need to install Adobe Flash player when trying to open a website.

Hi Viki,
Does Flash Player work until your computer is restarted? If so, please see the instructions in this FAQ:
How do I fix Windows permission problems with Flash Player?
Thanks,

No it never works. It just gives me an installation complete message. Then I immediately go to a site that uses flash player and get the message that I will have to download flash player in order to view this site. I’ve also tried shutting down my PC then back in to get to the site… same results.

Try a clean install, as described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
then download and run both offline installers from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.ht...

Could they possibly be hidden files? What would their extension be?

It's not the files that are hidden, but the extensions - they just show as 'FlashInstall' in your Explorer.

Sorry, that is not an option; discussions should remain in the forum. Also, I am located in Japan - the time difference would be too difficult.
