Liquify - Return of Alt-Scroll Wheel for Zoom

    Qbarrie Community Member

While I most definitely love the addition of "alt-right-click-drag" for resizing the brush in CS6 Liquify , I must say I greatly feel the loss "alt-mouse-wheel" for zooming in and out.

(Alt-mouse-wheel is much better than ctrl-left-click zooming because you didn't have to go down to the zoom pop-up or ctrl-right-click to bring up the zoom dialog to go back to 100% or fit image.)

If it was brought back, then brush resizing and zooming in and out is all under the Alt key - that would be sweet!

      Cheers!

Yes, its painful when Alt+wheel zoom suddenly isn't functional. It should be consistent right across Ps. In CS6 on a Mac, it's neglected in at least:

          Camera Raw

          Filter Gallery

          Adaptive Wide Angle

          Lens Correction

          Liquify

          Oil Paint

          Vanishing Point

Your post inspired me to test Camera Raw 7.1 on Windows....and I discovered something wonderful (that also works in Liquify).

As mentioned, pressing CTRL and left-click zooms in - however, pressing CTRL+ALT and left-click zooms out!!

            Whoo hoo!!

It's not as fast as ALT+wheel, but it sure is easier than trying to target values in a static pop-up.

(I'm kinda embarassed to admit this worked in Liquify in CS5 as well.....but because I had alt-wheel, I never knew.)

            Awesome!!

(I hope it works that way for Mac too.)

Yep, when pressing Cmd enables zoom in, pressing Cmd+Opt enables zoom out. Also, there's the regular Ps spacebar for the hand, spacebar+Cmd for zoom in, spacebar+Opt for zoom out, a zoom context menu (with more options than the regular Ps one) and the zoom-in box (like drawing a rectangular marquee).

All the features in my earlier list do not honour the Scrubby Zoom option of the Zoom Tool. Some do not give access to the Zoom Tool by pressing Cmd and Opt+Cmd.
