2. Re: CS2 file opens in CS5.5 with inaddressable spaces
cyberbaffled Jul 22, 2012 3:42 PM (in response to BobLevine)What I mean by "inaddressable" spaces is large white-space in a block of text. It's as if the empty space after a paragraph had been set to be inches wide.

5. Re: CS2 file opens in CS5.5 with inaddressable spaces
cyberbaffled Jul 22, 2012 4:31 PM (in response to cyberbaffled)Incidently, I'll add this fact. The ID CS2 file saves as CS5.5 without any distortions such as I've described. However, when I attempt to change that resulting saved text, huge white-space ellipsie immediately form.

6. Re: CS2 file opens in CS5.5 with inaddressable spaces
P Spier Jul 22, 2012 5:08 PM (in response to cyberbaffled)If you still have CS2 available, export the file to .inx and try opeing that in CS5, otherwise export to .idml from CS5 and open that.

cyberbaffled Jul 22, 2012 9:25 PM (in response to P Spier)Thanks greatly for the idea. Tomorrow, 7-23, I'll try to resurrect my CS 2 and attempt the two procedures.

8. Re: CS2 file opens in CS5.5 with inaddressable spaces
cyberbaffled Jul 25, 2012 10:24 AM (in response to P Spier)I installed my ancient CS2 Indesign and when I attempt to open a file created seven years ago therewith I'm prompted that a variety of snap-ons are missing. I've copied screen shots of the prompts below. Where can I find these snap-ons? I only installed CS2 Indesign. If I'd have installed everything, would that have picked up the missing snap-ons? I'm posting this issue in this forum as an independent question. If you don't know the answer maybe Bob Levine will. The second image below is a scroll view from which I've only copied the top of the scroll.

BobLevine Jul 25, 2012 10:36 AM (in response to cyberbaffled)Those ARE NOT CS2 files. The worldready composer was introduced in CS4.
