1. Re: How to default set filling color?
[scott] Jul 23, 2012 3:14 AM (in response to TomRomaniuk)No. Paths copied and pasted or even exported from Photoshop will always appear with no fill and no stroke in Illustrator.

3. Re: How to default set filling color?
Jacob Bugge Jul 23, 2012 3:18 AM (in response to TomRomaniuk)Tom,
What happens if you try to select everything, or all the nostroke/nofill paths by selecting one and Select>Same>Stroke&Fill, and then set the fill for all of them at once?

4. Re: How to default set filling color?
[scott] Jul 23, 2012 3:26 AM (in response to Jacob Bugge)Why use Photoshop at all if you need paths in Illustrator? Can't you simply place any raster image you need in Illustrator and create your paths? That way they'll continue to fill as you want them to.

5. Re: How to default set filling color?
Wade_Zimmerman Jul 23, 2012 4:59 AM (in response to TomRomaniuk)You're going about this wrong.
First Scott is right on this should have been done in Illustrator in the first place.
But since you have it created in Photoshop you want to create a blank ai file and then place the photoshop file into that document.
You have to choose the option to convert layers to ai objects when doing so.
Then you will come in witht the path a fill color you gave it in Photoshop and you will be able to stroke and change colors as well if you desire. Yopu will be able to clean it up also.

9. Re: How to default set filling color?
emil emil Jul 23, 2012 8:24 AM (in response to TomRomaniuk)What Wade said is: in Illustrator choose File > New and in the New Document dialog choose the same dimensions as the Photoshop document. Then in the new document choose File > Place where you can select your Photoshop document and this will give you the option in question. This will place in Illustrator all shape layers of the Photoshop document as paths with their fill colors.

Wade_Zimmerman Jul 23, 2012 11:28 AM (in response to emil emil)emil emil that will be another lesson. The user will come upon this hemselves somewhere down the road but for know they have a way.
It is just one of those things that might be to simple and direct at the moment for this user once speed becomes an issue they will see it.
Just part of the learning process.
