ColdFusion, under the hood

I've been working with ColdFusion for about six years, and would love to gain a deeper understanding its inner workings. But it seems like most of the books and websites I've read have been very surface-level. Does anyone have any recommendations on good, solid resources for gaining an understanding of how ColdFusion handles the low-level nitty gritty stuff?

Thanks,
Dave

If you type "Extending Coldfusion" into Google, it pulls up some pretty cool topics that get more into the lower-level stuff.

Since ColdFusion is written in Java, if you want to understand the inner working of ColdFusion, I would recommend picking up a book on Java.
