Error downloading flash

I keep getting an error when downloading flash "A required file (:3) could not be installed" What can I do???

Are you trying to install Flash Professional or Flash Player?  Which operating system are you using?  Does it indicate the file which could not be installed at all or all is you receive is (:3)?

It was flash player. Already installed on laptop had other problems viewing web pages so tried to update but couldn't. Uninstalled the program then when I tried to re install I got the above error exactly as shown. I have deleted some files from flash folder and have now been successful in re installing! More luck than judgement!
