Please try a different web browser. I would also recommend either adding the Adobe Download Assistant as an exclusion or temporarily disable your software firewall.
So far I have tried - turning off the firewall, using google chrome, firefox and explorer 8 (this recommended by adobe FAQ), saving it to the desktop (FAQ), 2 earlier versions, working with the adobe people on line. I think I have run out of patience and will just give up. Lucky I did not spend the money to buy the programme if downloading the free version is this much trouble!!
