Clips added to timeline have no audio track (CS6 beginner)

I'm not sure how I've done this but I'm adding clips from a single media file using the source window (mark in, mark out, insert) to the timeline but it's not inserting the corresponding audio track.

The audio plays fine in the source window although I did notice that at one point there was a clanking sound being played whilst I was using the cursor keys to navigate the media in source window.

I've checked and there are no disabled audio tracks. They're all empty.

1. What am I doing wrong?

2. Is there a way to add the audio without having to go through the whole process of marking the clips and adding them to the timeline again?

Do you have the appropriate audio tracks targeted and mapped?

Can you furnish the complete details of the Source File, including its Audio?

Also, remember that in a Sequence, PrPro will ONLY place Audio into an Audio Track with a matching channel-count, and if one does not exist, it will create the necessary Audio Track, and that new one will be created just above the Master Audio Track.

Good luck,

Ahh, I'd deselected the audio track. Thanks.

Also, is there a way to auto-magically add the audio for the existing clips?

Track Targetting...yep..I get it but after all this time with Premiere Pro...

The same thing you would use it for.  If you want to add a clip to a sequence without dragging it, then the desired track needs to be both targeted and mapped.  Having just one won't do it.
