In such manner I lost an huge amount of photographs.

need your help to overcome such inconvenient.

If you've moved the files outside of Organizer, you've broken the links to their location in the catalog.

Use File...Reconnect...All Missing Files, and click on the "Browse" button to point the reconnection process to the new location of the files.

            Good morning Ken,

            thanks indeed for your message.

I am not very familiar with the new technologies and I'd appreciate very much if you could explain to me using poor words and simple examples where I'm wrong and how I can correct.

            Thanks sincerely.

            greetings

                Thanks for your efforts.

Unfortunately doen't work. Miniatures still show question mark and cannot open them.

If you move files outside of elements (e.g. using Finder) you will break the links held in Organizer. Organizer never physically imports files. It simply makes a file path to the image on your hard drive.

Are you also using iPhoto + Organizer? That can cause problems with duplication on your hard drive.

It’s probably best to tidy up to remove all the missing items. That will make the catalog more efficient. Then you can import directly from folders again.

                          Open the Organizer and click:

File à Reconnect à All Missing Files

As soon as you see the first pop-up…Searching… hit the Browse button.

The Reconnect Missing files dialog should open.

Highlight the first missing file in the top left window.

Then scroll to the bottom of the list and shift-click on the last file (to select all)

Then click the Delete From Catalog button and click OK.

The images marked by the question mark are shown only in organizer and no way to perform any operation with them. Doing what you suggest makes me afraid to lose them for good.

File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders
