Can somebody help please before I go crazy!!!

I cannot install the latest Adobe Flash player and have tried everything. It keeps telling me a newer version is installed but there is nothing installed at all!!

I am not the most computer savvy person but I need a step by step guide to get it installed.

My operating system is Windows Vista

Web browser is Internet Explorer

Please help - my little boy cannot play on his favourite computer game and he is driving me mad lol!!!
