Unable to get Flash to work

For the last few days I've been trying to get the latest version of Flash to work on my laptop, I've gone through every suggestion posted on these forums and the most I get is a black box where a flash video is supposed to work. I've installed and unistalled all more times than I can count, right now I have the latest version installed but when I go to the test page on the link provided to other users it tells me that it is not. I desperately need to fix this and any help is appreciated.

Windows 7 Home Premium

IE9 version 9.0.8112.16421

Flash Version 11.3.300.268

I've checked the first link and under the manage add ons tab, next to Toolbars and Extensions, Shockwave Flash Objects is enabled.  When I click on the link that takes you to the Flash Player About Page I don't even get a box with a red x on it, it's just blank.

I also checked the second link you posted having to do with ActiveX Filtering, I've made sure to turn it off.  I also don't get the circle with a slash icon on any of the webpages I am having problems with.

My display adapter info is

Driver Provider:  Intel Corporation

Driver Date:        4/4/2011

Driver Version:   8.15.10.2353

If the Shockwave Flash add-on is enabled, and ActiveX filtering disabled, the only other idea I have is to update your graphics driver, according to the link in my earlier post.

I have the virtually the same as above, and I just recently got a new graphics card. Is there anything else to do?

Thanks,

Don

Hi Don,

Have you walked through the steps for a clean install?

How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

I used the link below with the filepaths and didn't find anything. Is there

anything else to try? I've been doing internet searches for 3 days and I

keep coming up with the same things to do, but nothing works, short of

returning to IE8.

Thanks,

Don

Don, could you give Google Chrome a try to make sure there isn't something at a lower level that is affected Flash?

Flash seems to be working with Chrome, so that's good. I tried IE again.

The message doesn't show up on the browser, but Youtube gives me a message

on each video saying that I need to download Flash to watch it. My wife

prefers IE, so I'd appreciate any help you can be getting that to work.

I'll still search on my own, as well.

Thanks,

Don Anderson

Don,

If you go to this page on IE, does it tell you what version of Flash is installed?

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html

If not, please follow the steps in this FAQ:

Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer 9

Thanks,

Chris
