I have a PDF file that requires a password to open. I did not create the file or the password - but I know the password and I can open and read the file.
I want to remove the password - it is a pain in the neck to have to supply a password everytime I want to open this file.
How do I remove the password?
If you have only Adobe Reader, it cannot edit PDFs and cannot remove passwords, even if you know them.
Adobe Acrobat can remove security.
The creator of the file must have had a reason to password protect it. Is his/her opinion worthless? Wouldn't it be polite to ask him/her to provide an unprotected version?
