I downloaded the free version of flash player but when i check my list of programs only Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin shows up there is no Adobe Flash Player program on the list. also when i try to watch videos online (hulu, youtube, that sort of stuff) all i get is a black screen where the video should be playing, it doesn't say that i need to download the flash player, it's just a black screen. What should i do?

Could you go to the Firefox "Add-ons" page, select the plugins tab and verify that you see an entry for "Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.265"?  If it's listed, make sure it's enabled.  If it's not shown, you might have installed the ActiveX version for Internet Explorer.  In that case, just go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer with Firefox and the correct version should be installed.
