Locating your personal configuration folder
"In Mac OS X (Lion), open Finder and press Shift-Cmd-Go. Type ~/Library/Application Support in the dialog box, and click Go. You should then be able to find the configuration folder."
Let's first deal with your cache problem as you are on a Mac machine with a problem that is very topical on these forums. To find your cache, I suggest read this FAQ:
This should handle your cache problem. For fireworks, repost your question on FW forum at this link:
Hope this should cover most things for the moment.
Thanks, i found the cach file with your helps, (I used Path Finder, it did not show it!) and deleted it.
Unfortunately it did not solve my problem, if opening bigger files (perhaps 200kB) with a few .js and css files attached DW CS6 switches into some kind of crawl mode, it takes minutes before it responds to a mouseclick or keyboard entry and working is impossible.
I tried to recreate the same files from scratch, it works for a while and than the crawl mode cuts in again.
I do not know how to solve this problem, any idea is appreciated.

If you have very large files, it's generally a good idea to turn off the site cache to speed up Dreamweaver's response.
- Go to Site > Manage Sites.
- Select the site that contains the large files, and click Edit (the pencil-shaped icon at the bottom left).
- In the Site Setup dialog box, select Advanced Settings > Local Info.
- Deselect the Enable Cache check box.
This setting is site-specific, so you need to change it for each site individually.
Also, if DW is running slow, check the amount of memory in your machine. The more the better.
It seems I did find the problem, it is a utility called PopChar which is loaded into the menu bar.
After closing this utility DW seems to be back to normal.
It happens only with bigger files (abt. 200kb), with smaller files even with the utility loaded DW is working normal. There must be some kind of conflict between the two programs.
