1. Re: Can I import NEX-VG20 AVCHD 2.0 into Premiere Elements 10?
Steve Grisetti Sep 12, 2012 2:33 PM (in response to civex)I would not recommend using AVCHD 60p or 24p with the current versions of Premiere Elements, civex. But AVCHD 60i should work just fine.

civex Sep 12, 2012 3:44 PM (in response to Steve Grisetti)Hi, Steve,
Many thanks for the reply. Are there any workarounds other than 60i?
I know this is a premiere elements forum, but do you know of any alternatives for OS X?
Is there someplace I could read up on why 60p won't work but 60i would? I'm interested in learning.

7. Re: Can I import NEX-VG20 AVCHD 2.0 into Premiere Elements 10?
civex Sep 13, 2012 8:06 PM (in response to civex)As an aside, may I ask what file formats people are writing their files out to from VG20? My intention is to write files for online presentation and to show on DVD. I hadn't thought about BluRay till I read John T. Smith's links.

9. Re: Can I import NEX-VG20 AVCHD 2.0 into Premiere Elements 10?
Steve Grisetti Sep 14, 2012 9:12 AM (in response to John T Smith)An online presentation would take one kind of file. Most likely Share/Computer/AVCHD/For Vimeo or YouTube.
A DVD is a very different output file. Standard resolution. Share/Disc/DVD.
Neither format, by the way, would benefit from your shooting your video in 60p since neither online formats nor DVDs show video at 60p.
