Try going to Help > Updates within Dreamweaver CS6, that will launch Adobe Application Manager in a different way for updates. In there you can set preferences for automatically checking for updates for individual programs and how you are notified of updates. I show a newer build that what you listed 5848, so I think there is an update you need to install.
Your suggestion worked -- sort of -- even though it shouldn't have, according to the CC post, "Update in Creative Cloud Software does not work".
The bottom line is I still don't have a Media menu on the Insert panel, or any option for HTML 5 video, both as shown at 44 seconds into the announcement video at http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs6-creative-cloud-feature-tour-for-web/dreamweaver-cs6-update-f or-creative-cloud-members/.
My first attempt to get the coveted revision was what you suggested, i.e., to use the update command from within Dreaweaver's Help menu. But it reported that no updates were available. My experience was like that reported in the CC post, "Update in Creative Cloud Software does not work", which says that CS6 apps must be manually uninstalled and then re-downloaded.
So I did manually uninstall and re-download, and ended up with Ver. 12 rel. 5808... but the insert panel was unchanged.
Then I read your post and re-attempted Update from within Help, and this time it DID down load an update, Ver. 12 rel. 5842. (Strange that Help/Update command worked now, but not previously...)
This time the insert menu does look different... but still nothing like that shown in the Mac version in the announcement video. There is no Media item on the Insert panel's menu. The Common menu, however, does continue to feature a Media submenu with what I think are some new choices (Shockwave Param Active X and PlugIn) in addition to the existing SWF and FLV.
So I'm wondering... which platform/version do you now have, and does its Insert panel have a Media menu item, and an HTML 5 video option?
Hi Dave, Thanks for your reply! (I was finally able to download the latest version of Dreamweaver, which had the new Insert panel.) Unfortunately I've been having a far more severe problem for th elast couple of days: (inability to log into Creative Cloud or the support portal. I also can't log into http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/creative-cloud.html to request help! Assuming that you too aren't suffering from these problems... may I please ask you to help out by contacting them, eg., via forum or new issue ticket, and by indicating that I'm the one who needs the help! Here is my profile:http://forums.adobe.com/people/wbaafs And here are a few more details you can cut and paste if you like: Thanks Dave,Richard Kahn (for Bill Anderson)
For over a day or two I haven't been able to log into plain old adobe.com (except very intermittently, and then can't open other pages from it). I can log into and view forums.adobe.com and get to Creative Cloud forum but I can't sign in and post a message about the log-in problems. These problems occur regardless of whether I try to log in with ANY browser from -- my Win 7 destkop -- VMs on my desktop (which don't have any creative cloud application manager or apps or CS6 apps installed on them), or
-- from an old Vista laptop. Clearing all cookies from Firefox made no diffierence. I saw a staff post on the Creative Cloud forum from earlier today regarding a "degradation" problem with that service. That's putting it mildly! Can ypu please correspond with me via email or else give me a non-adobe.com-based help area that I can log into (or don't need to log into)? Thanks,Richard Kahn (for Bill Anderson)

I am having this exact same problem with the update not displaying a new insert panel as it should pictured below. I still have my original insert options which do NOT include HTML5 or Edge. Is the only and best solution to reinstall? My HTML5 video are not loading on any browser when I insert by code or Kaltura widget. I was excited to see this update in hopes my issue would be resolved. To no avail. Please help!
