When downloading an adobe drm epub book the message Maximum number of updates exceeded - error code:-40337(400) appears. What do I do? This relates to the Sony ereader software.

Why did you post this in the forum for Adobe Reader?

Because one of the suggested answers from Sony was that I needed to increase the allocation of Adobe ID authorised downloads and I couldn’t find any reference to these limitations on Adobe’s website, nor could I find a way of increasing the authorisation.
