Problem downloading Adobe Flash Player

I have tried to download Adobe Flash Player a few times, last time I restarted the computer before trying again. The same thing keeps happening. It gets to 50% & stops. It says to close the gplayer. The problem is nothing is running & I have no idea what a gplayer is. Is there a solution I havent tried? If not, how can I bypass this issue?
