Acrobat X Pro Upgrade allows only to upgrade from standard but NOT from a prior pro version...

I bought an Acrobat X Pro Upgrade retail package. After installation (on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) got the "successfully installed" message.

After first invokation I get a window titled "Acrobat X Pro Trial" (altough it is a paid retail package disc). I was asked to provid the product Key ID (although was asked for and provided it at the beginning of installation) and a key ID of a prior eligble version for upgrade.

Problem is, it offers only versions 7, 8 & 9 Standard (and 9 Pro Extended) as eligible for upgrade. I have only versions 7, 8 & 9 Pro, which it will not accept! I then immediately checked the retail package which indeed its print excludes the 7, 8 & 9 Pro from the elibility list. So it seems that it is not a regular software bug!

(It should be noted that the eligibility list on Adobe's website does NOT  exclude).

I tried the installation with a removed and not removed preinstalled Acrobat 9 Pro.

I have never seen an error of that nature but the most stunning point for me is that given that we are talking about a retail package(!) and that it has been around for about two years(!), I could not find any addressing to the subject on Adobe's website. Or am I the first one to buy it?   One simple solution could be for Adobe to alow user to log in to there website, type in an Acrobat N Pro key ID and in return a Acrobat N Standard ket ID.

      Just amazing.

      Any thoughts are apreciated.
