I am getting a message, "Your version of Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with this version of Windows".....OK, what is?

I have downloaded what I thought is the latest version from the Adobe website, for Windows, Vista 32 bit and the message is the same.

I also get, "I need flash.oxs".... What is that file as it is not part of Windows Vista.??

I have been having some boot issues.

When I checked the log a "compatibility" issue was shown.  Told me the present AciveX was not correct for this version of Vista, and I was missing Flash.ocx.

Here are the files from Flash......

Flash32_11_4_402_287.ocx

FlashInstall

Flash player update

FlashUtil32_11-4_287_activeX.dll

The latest version of Flash Player is correctly installed on your computer, and it is fully compatible with Vista.

However, you must have some software on your system (and in your startup) that is looking for a very old Flash Player version (Flash.ocx).  In whatever log you found that info, it should also tell you what software or module is looking for that old Flash version.
