A yellow bar pops up saying Adobe Flash Player is out of date and updating the plug in has no affect. How do I fix this problem? (I use a Macbook Pro)

I am experiencing same issue as "baaseby", with the same version of Flash Player used on a MacbookPro.

I am using Chrome & have walked though several "help" steps indicated by Adobe, including looking to enable within the plug-in details

chrome works with & found it already indicated that it IS enabled & needs a 'critical security update' yet the link simply redirects me to

the same Adobe site I have tried downloading from multiple times.  To no avail.

Any other suggestions?

Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.

For MAC : http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

Restart the machine.

Download and Re-install Flash Player.

Restart the browser and check.

Did you uninstall Flash Player using its uninstaller? If not try that and check.

Can you check to see if you have "enable plug-ins" checked in Safari's preferences dialog, under the security tab? If not, enable it and check.

I'm using Chrome, not safari. Is that the issue? Is flash not compatible with Chrome?

Could you make sure if you have deleted the below files mentioned under step 2.9 of the below article:

\Library\Internet Plug-Ins\Flash Player.plugin\

Library\Internet Plug-Ins\flashplayer.xpt

~\Library\Preferences\Macromedia\Flash Player\

~\Library\Caches\Adobe\Flash Player\

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html

Also, if you run the uninstaller, make sure, you run it according to your MAC version as mentioned in that article.

Hi,

Are you using Mac 10.5.8? Apple and Google stopped support for this version.

The following thread has some troubleshooting information: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1073616

Thanks,

Sunil
