I was looking around and I did not see and answer so I thought I would ask, does anyone know if you can do a full text index on a sql view? I have a view that is putting togeature a few tables and I want to search them but it keeps saying they have to be full text index enabled but sql2005 should have them enabled by default right? I was just wondering if you can do it on a view because the Tables do have it enabled.

Thanks

"A full-text index must be defined on a base table; it cannot be defined on a
view, system table, or temporary table."

at least that's what the sql server 2000 BoL has to say.

also enabling full-text indexing is just the first step. you have to define &
populate it.
