Error Message During Reader/Flash Player Install

I receive the message "An error has occurred in the script on this page" when attempting to install Reader and Flash Player.  Windows XP Pro 32-bit, MSIE8.  I'm running Windows in a Boot Camp partition on an iMac.  I have scripting enabled in Internet Options.

What does this mean?

Download and run the offline installers
