Try this.
1. Click Insert > Blank Slide...
2. On the new blank slide, click Insert > Text Caption... and type the text your user will read.
3. Click Insert > Button... (or Click Box...)
Buttons or Click Boxes normally pause the slide until they are clicked by the user.
Does that do what you need?

as you can see, it gets halfway through the text box, stops bringing in the text. -

I see you have a click box below the text. You need to look closely at the timing of the click box. Remember, it pauses the slide. It's been my experience that with animated text such as this, you need to increase the time it takes to display the animation. So you need to look at the click box properties to ensure it isn't pausing the slide before the text anmiation has had time to complete.
