cfwindow display (with cf8 and cf9)

On my local system CF8 I get the right draggable panel.

On production CF9 , I do not have it, it is relative positionned above the rest.

I do not have any idea why ????

With this behaviour, I will never use it . So much time lost.

There is an article in Raymond Camden's blog, showing how cfwindow breaks in CF9. The bug was reported and has apparently been fixed.

You have 2 options. Either upgrade to CF9.0.1 and apply the most recent hot fixes, or upgrade to CF9.0.2.

You should realize the latter option is quite involved. The CF9.0.2 release notes say, "This Updater release is a follow-up of ColdFusion 9 Update 1 release. However, note that, unlike ColdFusion 9.0 Update 1, ColdFusion 9.0 Update 2 is a full installer. Hence, do not install ColdFusion 9.0.2 alongside an existing ColdFusion 9.0 or ColdFusion 9.0.1 installation.

ColdFusion 9.0.2 update is a summation of ColdFusion 9.0.1, ColdFusion 9.0.1 Cumulative HotFixes 1 & 2, all ColdFusion 9.0.1 Security HotFixes, but without Verity."

Thanks, but procedure to upgrade to 9.0.1 is crazy,

I am really afraid in doing it.

And is that the same files for 32bits ot 64bits ?

I am under 64bits under production.

I cannot risk to break CF only to get CFwindow working.

I did this upgrade on a local server Windows 7 and CF9 32bits.

The procedure is really crazy, do not know what will happen.

Then I restarted CF9,

seems to run,  Applications are running,

BUT, I cannot get to the CF admin:

root/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm gives a 500 error number

No access anymore to the CF admin.

So now, I cannot manage CF9 in local, what to do ?

i am in a mess.

Too dangerous to risk this under production.

I would just upgrade to 9.0.2. It is one full installation, all upgrades and fixes included. Test it well before going into production.

does that mean, no Verity at all,

or keep the old Verity

I start under 32bits,

if OK,

I will serach for 64bits version.

You may choose to install Verity alongside the ColdFusion installation, or separately later on.

I have reinstall CF9 (ColdFusion_9_WWEJ_win) 32bits.

The sites are working

but as previous, No acces to the CF Admin.

I am very despointed about CF9 updates,

it broke my server CF, I cannot do any thing under production

under these conditions.

Local adress : (not working, HTTP500 error)

A site have this adress, and is working :

http://192.168.1.7/C008/www/index/accueil.cfm

Then, I think the CFIDE directory is not good ?

Quite likely. You seem to have 2 sites. If so, why? What is the directory structure (including CFIDE) for the site http://192.168.1.7/C008/www/index/accueil.cfm?

I have uninstall the whole CF9

And reinstall it.

It ran OK, witha bug at the end, in the CF settings. (I do not know what)

But it seems to work now.

I can access the CF Admin.

I have redeclared the datasources.

All applications are OK.

All these for CFwindow, cfwindow works now under this CF9 version 0.2,

but it has not the same look than on CF8,

better in CF8, (shadow and rounded).

So I m still desapointed.

And I do not dare to upgrade the production version. (in 64bits)

What you have just confirmed is that something broke in CF9. If you want to stay on ColdFusion 9, then you really should upgrade to the latest version, 9.0.2. Test your production code thoroughly by simulating the production environment on a development or test server. Then you will have little to worry about.

My test is under 32 bits, and production is under 64 bits.

So I am very afraid to upgrade on production.

And I will not buy a new 64bits machine for test.

So I leave it as it is.

You can use the (64bit) Developer version for free.
