1. Re: Rounded corners do not work in "pan & zoom" Folio overlay
SFS-DPS Oct 31, 2012 10:03 AM (in response to zagarskas)You have to create a two stage MSO on a layer above the pan and zoom to mask out the image.

zagarskas Oct 31, 2012 2:52 PM (in response to SFS-DPS)could you elaborate? MSO?
I have the image itself scalled to 100% (I) , inside a framed rectangle scalled to 100% (R1), inside of anotehr framed rectangle with rounded corners (R2).
The last rectangle has the Folio pan & zoom effect.
nesting:
(R2)-> pan & zoom, 500x500, rounded corners
| -> (R1)-> 1200x1200
| -> (I)-> 1200x1200

Bob Bringhurst - Adobe Oct 31, 2012 3:05 PM (in response to zagarskas)When you trigger the image pan, it pops above all non-overlay content. To avoid this, you need to create a dummy MSO with two identical states (set it to auto play once). That MSO should appear on top of the pan and zoom overlay. The Advanced Overlays issue of DPS Tips includes several examples of overlay masks.

4. Re: Rounded corners do not work in "pan & zoom" Folio overlay
zagarskas Nov 1, 2012 10:48 PM (in response to Bob Bringhurst - Adobe)ok, I understand this, however I have had only limited success with your soltuion.
For example, consider this scenario:
- underneath the Folio overlay pan and zoom (FOPZ) there is another image, and that the rounded corners on the FOPZ should be seamless, showing the image underneath right up to the radai. Essentially, the FOPZ in this case I intend to work like a "mask" a sort of 'magnifying' glass' tactic where it appears to be effecting the image underneath of it, sort of nostalgic of AS2 and flash, but without the 'same type of movement'.
like this, stacked
----[FOPZ]------- (with big image in it, rounded corners, lined up perfect with image underneath)
----[image]------- small, bottom, 50% opacity
If I use the nested "dummy MSO" tactic, the closest I get to success is making the rounded corners have a colored border of like 30px to hide the edge of the FOPZ on load
as such:
----[MSO]------- (empty, 30px rounded corners with colored border)
----[FOPZ]------- (with big image in it, lined up perfect with image underneath)
----[image]------- small, bottom, 50% opacity
as you can see, in this case, it becomes 'tacky' with the BIG border... alas, I may be missing something from you explanation, but do you see what I mean?
Any ideas?
