    Stroking a path

    ruthgordy Community Member

I have an open path in Photoshop CS4. When I go to stroke the path, photoshop makes a stroke that closes the path from end to end.

I want to stroke just the path with a specified stroke width in a specific color.

      Can someone help?

      Thanks

Can you post a screen-cap of your Workspace with the Paths Panel open, and the Path active, and also your Layers Panel open? Also, make sure that the Pen Tool's Option Panel shows in your Toolbar.

I Stroke Open Paths all of the time, and have never had the issue that you describe.

My guess is that you have the Pen Tool set to Shape, which will close the Path, but that is but a guess.

          Good luck,

Select the Brush Tool first, then stroke it via the button at the bottom of the Paths panel.  Please show some screen grabs.

I've always wanted to say this:

"There's a difference between knowing the path, and stroking the path"
