Can't download Flash Player to my Mac.

When I click on "Download Flash Player" from the Adobe.com site, a window opens for just a second and then "http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.4.402.287/install_flash_player_osx.dmg" appears in the locator bar of Safari, it tries to load and halts.  I made sure there is no firewall restrictions or other security restrictions to prevent the installation.  Why won't it install?
