Links to Word documents

I'm having problems with links to Word documents in my latest webhelp project.

I've created the links as usual, and when I check them using "View selected item" they work, but when I generate the primary layout and check the links they don't work (I get "the page cannot be displayed"). The files don't appear in the baggage and I don't seem able to add them to it.

Any ideas please?

It sounds like you've been bitten by the X5 baggage bug. There is a workround.

Many thanks. This has worked.

What causes the bug in the first place? The workaround is OK for a few files, but if I'm linking to dozens it would be a real pain!

Bad code!

The trick is to add the files to the baggage before you create the links. Then they will add OK.
