Metafile error when I install flash player

I am very frustrated at this point. I was able to watch videos on my computer but not read pdf files. So I uninstalled my adobe programs and reinstalled. The reader worked fine but the flash player won't install. It says metafile error. I've tried the http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html site and i downloaded and installed the exe installer. It still am not able to see videos. I'm not that great with computers. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry i mistyped. I uninstalled what I had and what my problem is that when I go to install the flash player from this link http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ it comes up with the metafile error. Then I followed this link http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html. I installed the exe file from that. It didn't come up with any errors but videos still arent working. Yes the shockwave flash plugin is enabled.

You have all the required files, and you say the plugin is enabled.

So what means "not working"; what exactly do you see instead of the expected Flash content?

You seem to use 64-bit Windows, but Firefox is a 32-bit application, so please also tell me what files you have in C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash

When I go to watcha video, it just gives me a blank white or black screen.  C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash didn't even show up when i searched for it. Again im not that great with computers.

I've checked the link "find version" - the rolling bow is not showing, neither the system parameters...

With IE everything is working properly, but I want to use firefox...

@cha744 and Sovata - What version of Firefox are you running?  Can you please type "about:plugins" and "about:support" in Firefox's address bar and post back the contents of both pages that are displayed?  Finally, does this page load for you?  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html?

@Sovata - Could you also try updating to our latest 11.5 release?

I tried that, but i decided to make a new username on my computer and it works on that. So I guess I'll just stick to that.

Interesting, this leads me to think that you might be running into a problem with the Firefox user profile.  This would have been recreated when you switched to a new user account.  If you want to try resetting your profile with your original account, please see this Mozilla document:

I tried resetting it but still no flash. Youtube told me to install flash, so I clicked on the link given by the video, it seemed to install fine but nothing changed as far as videos playing.
