1. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
Noel Carboni Jul 11, 2012 5:53 AM (in response to ansiaaa)I'm sorry to say I don't have much to offer in the way of help, other than to ask, have you contacted Wacom on this? I'm sure they have an interest in having the product work with Photoshop CS6.
Seems to me at the price for the product Wacom ought to send an engineer out to diagnose and fix the problems.
As you have seen, in all the threads online I've ever run across installing different (or re-installing) Wacom drivers has been what's corrected it. Do make sure you reboot after every driver change to be sure you're testing what you think you are.

2. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
ansiaaa Jul 11, 2012 8:01 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)I'm in contact with Wacom, but they haven't find a solution yet and I'm waiting to pass the problem to the developers.
I hoped to find someone else with the same problem who maybe had found a solution in the mean time...
anyway, thanks for the suggestions but as I said, I've researched the topic as well and tried going back to older drivers, but it won't work since the Cintiq 24HD isn't supported by those old drivers.
and the same is for re-installing drivers, since I have already done a clean installation of the whole computer and the problem is still there even with only the newest drivers installed (anyway that was the initial issue, since I had it from the beginning at the first installation).
My guess is that the driver and photoshop don't communicate correctly...
there's another known problem with Wacom drivers on 64bit systems and Photoshop, called "shoelace", and even that hasn't been solved yet.

Noel Carboni Jul 11, 2012 9:30 AM (in response to ansiaaa)Have you run across anyone else with the same hardware who's finding it to work properly?
It seems odd to me that Wacom would continue to release products without making them work with Photoshop.

4. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
ansiaaa Jul 11, 2012 10:29 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)I have found many persons with that problem on the intuos 3, but they solved with the older driver (since it's an old tablet, it makes sense).
unfortunately there aren't many persons that have the cintiq 24HD AND photoshop cs6, since they are expensive (the first) and just come out (the latter).
I've found a couple of cintiq users that have the same problem, and they are on win7 64bit.
anyway, talking about problems... the shoelace issue is something everybody with intuos 4 and 5 and cintiq products have if they are on windows 7 (at least for what I've seen on various forum and youtube videos). you can see for yourself by looking for "wacom shoelace".
this is a almost minor problem, but it shouldn't be there anyway, and even if it is so widespread wacom haven't solved it yet. actually this one seems something that happens only in photoshop as well... so... wacom? adobe? both? who knows who is to blame.

5. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
Apoxol Nov 8, 2012 6:15 AM (in response to ansiaaa)Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet? I am using a Cintiq 24HD and would really like to be able to use photoshop but this bug makes it unusable.
Windows 7 64-bit
Photoshop CS6
Wacom Cintiq 24HD (6.3.4-3 drivers)
I have tried installing old drivers but the tablet will not function with older drivers unfortunately.
I spent a while trying to figure out what sort of strokes were causing it and it does seem to be something related to approaching the screen slowly, like if you were going to do a precision stroke.
The interesting thing is that once you start that stroke, it is as if there is no pen pressure at all anymore, but if you keep the wacom tablet panel open you will see the pen is still properly registering pressure. Instead what it seems is that the pen click is registering as a normal mouse click for the duration of the pen being down, which is why it is full pressure.
A possibly related issue is if you have the mixer brush selected and tap the screen you will see the cursor dissapear and change to a standard mouse cursor and then go back.
i would really like to be able to use photoshop, I have also contacted Wacom on this issue, but seeing that there are no issues in Corel Painter, Sketchbook Pro, Art Rage Studio, etc, and Photoshop CS2, I suspect they wont have much for me.

6. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
ansiaaa Nov 8, 2012 8:06 AM (in response to Apoxol)wacom has given me and others really vague answers. we are waiting for the next update to the driver to see if they have actually addressed this issue and others...
the main discussion about this matter is on-going in this thread on the european forum:
http://forum.wacom.eu/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9954
I suggest everybody who owns a CINTIQ and who is interested to join and write that they have the same problem.

9. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
ansiaaa Jun 11, 2013 11:47 PM (in response to Fuseboy)maybe this could help... on the wacom european forum we've just discovered that the problem disappears completely if you use the Art Pen. it has been tested by me and a couple of other people during this week and I can confirm it.
I know this is not an actual solution and it requires that you spend more money (the Art Pen isn't cheap), but at least you'll be able to work without the hassle of this damn bug.
we have also been told that the problem will be solved with the next driver update. Since they already said that 2 times in the last year, I wouldn't count on that much though.

10. Re: Wacom Cintiq 24HD + Photoshop CS6 64bit (Win7 64bit): brush pressure sensitivity often fails
Trevor.Dennis Jun 11, 2013 11:59 PM (in response to ansiaaa)The Cintiq 24HD Touch has been on the top of my lust wish-list since it was first announced. Apart from cost — the Touch version is a lot more expensive than the non touch, but is a must have feature — they also take up a tone of desk space, and I wonder how you’d fit one onto a multi-monitor workspace. Do the Cintiq owners in this thread use them stand alone, or with other monitors for panels etc. and how do the drivers manage with dual monitors?
Not that I am about to go buy one.

ansiaaa Jun 12, 2013 12:48 AM (in response to Trevor.Dennis)please let's keep this thread on Topic
if you want more informations about your questions, I'd suggest to ask them on the Wacom forums

Dejawolfs Jun 12, 2013 3:29 AM (in response to ansiaaa)talking with people on the wacom forums, other software like artrage doesn't have hiccups like this. so... how is this a problem with the Cintiq drivers again?

ansiaaa Jun 12, 2013 4:18 AM (in response to Dejawolfs)on mac it doesn't happen for example and mainly with the 12" cintiq if u go back to older drivers there is no issue.
too bad those older drivers don't support all the rest of the cintiq line

Mr. Belize Jun 26, 2014 11:09 PM (in response to ansiaaa)I found that setting the double click distance in the Wacom tablet properties back to default worked for me.
