1. Re: Anybody know of any good photo printers that will take card stock?
DrStrik9 Nov 9, 2012 7:50 PM (in response to TwitchOSX)All decent ink-jet photo printers are designed to work with branded papers and branded ink cartridges, via branded drivers. These work together as a system, for best and most predictable results. I'd just call up a local printer sales outfit and ask if they have anything that will print on 80 lb. cover. If they have one, go see samples, and get materials prices, because the paper and ink isn't usually cheap, and refilled/off-brand ink and paper typically doesn't get you where you want to go, quality-wise.
Alternately, get an Epson or a Cannon or whatever (which print on less-than-80-lb cover), and also invest in a dry-mount press, for the "card" part of your adventure.
Good luck.

janelle_f Nov 9, 2012 8:10 PM (in response to TwitchOSX)I have worked with several printers, and for a printer for a shop such of yours, I love the Epson 1400. It has handled any paper I throw at it, and almost any weight (within reason). It looks misleading when you see it, but trust me, I love it!
