    Mountain Lion & Con CS4

    animoz Community Member

Have used Contribute CS4 for years with no problem.  Installed 10.8 and now Contribute won't open.  Error message:  No document types have been found..." It was uninstalled and reinstalled.  Used the Adobe CS4 and Mac updater.  Used the Mac's repair /verify utility.  Safe mode started the Mac.  Problem persists.  My business depends  a great deal on my website being updated and am frustrated.

This question has been asked previously, I see, with no answer.  Is there an answer?

Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.

Well fine.   The article I had read on the website John Nack stated:

Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop® (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues.

But of course that was followed by a list of hapless, unfortunate, empty-pocketed Contribute CS4 owners' complaints in roughly the same vein as mine.  So Iwill read the entire forum as your e-mail to me suggested but then go out a spend yet more money.

Help I too am having the same problem....

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and Contribute cs4 has stopped working.... I am an outdoor coach with a website I need to to update, I earn less than £15,000 a year!

I am not in the computer business, and have paid for and used contribute around 6 times over the last 3years... DO I REALLY NEED TO BUY the latest version... is there no fix?

Apple and Adobe SHAME on you if this is the case!

              any advise is appreciated!

I always assume my existing software isn't supported by new OS's unless I see information to the contrary. Just good practice.

There's always a choice. Contribute is simply a Content Management System. Try any number of free or paid for web editing softwares or learn HTML and CSS.

If Contribute 6.5 does work well with Mountain Lion, why do the tech specs listed for it not include 10.8 (ML)?

Oh great!  another upgrade downgrade.  I am getting that error too since I so called "upgraded " to Mt. Lion.  Will this never end?  So there is no fix except for buying a new Adobe product.  Apple and Adobe - shame shame shame!!!!!
