1. Re: Batch split stereo files to L mono R mono
ryclark Nov 14, 2012 3:32 PM (in response to RBemendo)Unfortunately the "Extract Channels to Mono Files" command in the Edit menu isn't recordable as a Favorite. Therefore it can't be used in a Batch process. However you can speed up the operation by assigning a keyboard shortcut to Extract Channels to Mono Files so that it can be carried out quite speedily by hand.

RBemendo Nov 14, 2012 3:43 PM (in response to ryclark)Seams like such an easy thing to batch, but looks like a feature request.
cheers for the response

ryclark Nov 15, 2012 4:38 AM (in response to RBemendo)It should be. But at the moment there only seems to be a fairly limited set of commands (mainly those from the Effects menu) that can be recorded to a Favorite and therefore used in a Batch operation.

I previously was using WaveAgent to do this, but WaveAgent is not allowing me to import files that have had extensive metadata added in Bridge to convert them to mono. Haven't narrowed down what metadata causes the failed import...
This is quite interesting in itself. I use WaveAgent for a similar (but different) process and I've never had any trouble with it at all. I wonder what's causing this? I'm pretty sure that Sound Devices would like to know, never mind anybody else...

5. Re: Batch split stereo files to L mono R mono
RBemendo Nov 15, 2012 6:33 AM (in response to SteveG(AudioMasters))@SteveG, I've been able to track the problem down to adding any Metadata in Bridge, even if you remove the metadata from the file manually after it's been added it will not import. Now I have been able to write to just one property and import it into Wave Agent, but have not found anything to be consistent. If I go back to the archived source clip that was written directly from the H4N it will import into Wave Agent. I've submitted a bug report to Sound Devices. Not sure if it's a bug or it's just a limitation of how wav properties behave correctly after having metadata written to it. Alternatively, if I add metadata to the file within Audition the file will import into Wave Agent. Any more information regarding metadata and wav integrity regarding this would be appreciated. But it looks as though this is a Bridge issue and not an Audition one. Feature request has been added for the original topic.
