i have a date column in my table with the format of 2006-12-18 09:43:00
i need to reference the in my where clause, not sure how to format it?
WHERE ServerSMS <= #(Now()#

Don't try to format it at all. Better approaches are:
If your db has something that returns the current date and time, use that.
Otherwise either,
use cfqueryparam
or
use createodbcdatetime
