Does the Elements import window just show a blank folder?
Could you post a screen shot of what the Elements import window looks like along side a screen shot of what the Windows Explorer window looks like?

If you can locate the files on disk, select the corresponding folder and drag drop in Organizer grid.
These will then be imported into Organizer.

This is the area in Organizer where you see image thumbnails.
Alternatively, if you launch Elements Organizer, click Ctrl+Shift+G and locate the folder from which you want to import and see images.

But as I have written, the problem is, that organizer will not show me the folder with the files
