1. Re: Exporting from Premiere Pro CS5 and DVD authoring
Harm Millaard Nov 30, 2012 6:21 AM (in response to prescovidprod)Simply use the Dynamic Link to Encore to create your DVD or BRD and leave out the exporting to H.264. You create extra generation losses.

JSS1138 Nov 30, 2012 12:58 PM (in response to prescovidprod)What is BRD?
An incorrect acronym for Blu-ray Disk, which is normally abbreviated BD.
If you want to make a DVD, I'd recommend exporting out of PP using an MPEG2-DVD preset. Your current method involves an additional transcode step, which will degrade the quality somewhat.

prescovidprod Nov 30, 2012 10:16 AM (in response to JSS1138)Jim, lol.
Thanks everyone as usual.
So, should my composition settings for after effects be set to 24 or 23.976 and can i render them as 16 bit?
Will this reduce the banding and artifacts along with using dynamic link? Or will it ultimately be 8 bit by the time the dvd is burned and go back to the banding....?

7. Re: Exporting from Premiere Pro CS5 and DVD authoring
JSS1138 Nov 30, 2012 12:59 PM (in response to prescovidprod)DVD won't take 24, so use 23.976. DVD is also 8 bit, so yes it'll end up that way. Doesn't hurt to keep it 16 bit as long as possible, though.

9. Re: Exporting from Premiere Pro CS5 and DVD authoring
JSS1138 Dec 1, 2012 12:09 PM (in response to prescovidprod)No, BD is also 8 bit. But it can take 24 fps at 1080 resolution.
