1. Re: Render fail
Mylenium Dec 2, 2012 11:26 PM (in response to CorridorDigital)What version of AE? What system? What does the render log say? Do other formats render? What's involved in your comp? You need to provide a lot more info.

3. Re: Render fail
CorridorDigital Dec 3, 2012 1:15 PM (in response to Mylenium)I am running version CS6 on a mac and I can't find the render log and no formats render. The only thing that is involved in my comp is a video, an optical flare, and a twitcth.

4. Re: Render fail
BenjaminMarkus Dec 3, 2012 1:29 PM (in response to CorridorDigital)That's probably still a bit light on the information side. As Todd said,

5. Re: Render fail
CorridorDigital Dec 3, 2012 2:25 PM (in response to BenjaminMarkus)I have never had this problem before. I think it is an H.264 inside an .mov conatiner. This is on MacOSX 10.7.5. I was rendering when the problem occured and no error message was displayed. I have been able to render before but the only thing I installed was the twitch plugin and I have had it work before too. I don't run any software. I am on an iMac mid 2011 with 8gb of RAM. It has a 2.5GHz Intel I5 processor. I have no third party hardware. I am not sure if I am using OpenGL. It happens when every time I try to render. I am not using multiple frames/multiprocessing. I select my comp. I click file>export>add to render queue. I hit render and it still fails no matter what seting I change or if I leave it the way it is.

6. Re: Render fail
BenjaminMarkus Dec 3, 2012 2:48 PM (in response to CorridorDigital)The After Effects team generally suggests that you export H.264 out of Adobe Media Encoder. For more information check out this thread.

7. Re: Render fail
CorridorDigital Dec 3, 2012 2:51 PM (in response to BenjaminMarkus)But even if I don't do anything with any of the files and I try to export it the render still fails.

8. Re: Render fail
BenjaminMarkus Dec 3, 2012 3:00 PM (in response to CorridorDigital)Are you getting an error message or does the render simply not start?

9. Re: Render fail
CorridorDigital Dec 3, 2012 3:12 PM (in response to BenjaminMarkus)The comp is about 3 seconds long but it only renders 2 seconds and 24 frames and then the line quickly goes to the end and then the final file is short a few frames and it says failed at and then where ever it failed to render. It doesn't consistantly stop at 2:24 but it could stop at 8 frames it could stop anywhere but it never renders the entire thing. I try to check the log but I can't find them and no error message is displayed. It also sometime says that an output module failed and that the file may be damaged or corrupted and that I need to restart AE but when I do I get the same results.
