2. Re: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 gigs ram, will it work with Mercury playback Engine for accelerate
Steve from NY Dec 7, 2012 1:25 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)I am a PC guy but, I have 6 work stations with CS6 but the wife wants a Mac so I am getting her an imac with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 gigs ram. Do you think this video card in the mac will still be able to utilize the Adobe CS6 MPE?
I asked the question on the mac forum & got no replys.

It's not formally supported by Adobe for GPU acceleration; however judging from the fact that the lesser GTX-650M is (with 6.02 update), and the end-user ability to enable support for unsupported cards in Adobe apps, it should work.

plarche Dec 20, 2012 9:50 AM (in response to Steve from NY)I just received my new iMac with the GTX 680MX. Premiere does not regognize it (yet) for Mercury playback. It does work for my MacBook pro, wich has the 650MX - so Adobe may have to release an update.

John T Smith Dec 20, 2012 9:57 AM (in response to plarche)For Windows, there is a hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557 - which is a simple entry in a "supported cards" file
I have NO idea if there is a similar hack for a Mac

maxorenstein08 Dec 20, 2012 7:46 PM (in response to plarche)I also just received my new iMac with the 680MX, dissappointed when I realized that the 680 is now supported, not the 680MX. Soon perhaps?

Nobody who knows (staff or beta test volunteers) is allowed to talk about Adobe's plans
Tell Adobe at this link https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
The more requests, the more likely Adobe will assign test staff to that card

plarche Dec 21, 2012 6:37 AM (in response to Steve from NY)I just tried the following and it worked! Both Premiere and After Effects recognize the 860MX.
