I am trying to get the latest Flashplayer on a Windows 7 Pro laptop, running IE9. Several sites I visit tell me that I have an "old version". I deleted all Adobe files and cleaned the garbage from my laptop. When I try to get the latest version of Flashplayer, Adobe tells me I have no version on my computer. In the downlaod, Adobe then states " a newer version is already installed on this computer". The download is stopped at that point. No installation is done, either.
How can this be? Adobe, after doing a check of my system, shows nothing for Flashplayer on my laptop.
What is wrong here?
Download and run the uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
Download and run the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_header
Make sure that the Shockwave Flash add-on is enabled in IE9.

Hi,
There seems that the Flash Player is not uninstalled completely. Firstly click on the below URL and on that page, under "2. Find the version of Flash Player installed on your computer" check the version that shows. You may need to install the latest version that that.
http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Secondly, if this doesn't work, you may probably need to uninstall and delete certain files, follow the below link to completely uninstall:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
After clean uninstall, restart the computer and install the latest version from the this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Revert back if you have any further queries.
Regards,
Jairaj

Pat, thank you very much! You are a genius. You are the only one who solved my problem. I went to ASUS and they gave me the most ridiculous means of solving this issue.
It is so refreshing to know that there are tech’s out there like you to help people like me that don’t know everything, but enough to get into difficulty, at times.
