1. Re: Can I add a button to my PDF that allows users to save it?
George_Johnson Dec 11, 2012 1:26 PM (in response to DVDmike)I can't test at the moment with Adobe Reader, but try setting up a button that executes the "File > Save As" menu item. I know it works with Acrobat.

2. Re: Can I add a button to my PDF that allows users to save it?
DVDmike Dec 11, 2012 2:26 PM (in response to George_Johnson)I tried it and it worked on my Chrome, FF, and IE browsers on a PC, but two mac users have tested it and it does not save the file.
Here is a test link: http://procom-consulting.com/docs/Services-test.pdf
I think that I probably simply set up the button properties incorrectly. It appears to work fine on at leat my PC, but no macs on any browser.

3. Re: Can I add a button to my PDF that allows users to save it?
George_Johnson Dec 11, 2012 2:50 PM (in response to DVDmike)It works for me too, but I'm using Acrobat. If the Mac users were using Preview (the default OSX PDF viewer), then it won't work. It should if theyuse Acrobat/Reader.

DVDmike Dec 12, 2012 11:12 AM (in response to George_Johnson)We cannot gaurentee that everyone who comes accross the web site will be using the real Acrobat reader.

George_Johnson Dec 12, 2012 11:30 AM (in response to DVDmike)Nor can you guarantee that everyone will have PDF viewing software installed, or if they do, that the PDF will be displayed in the browser. The point is there's only so much you can do and cannot ensure that it will work for everyone.

6. Re: Can I add a button to my PDF that allows users to save it?
Phillip Jones Dec 12, 2012 1:09 PM (in response to George_Johnson)I can tell you that all Mac users will miss out. I just posted a question about PDF Viewer not work on Mac for FireFox and SeaMonkey. I had posted a Bug. I received an answer from someone in the Top echelons of Adobe said they have absolute no interesting in get the Plugin working for Mac. They don't wish to waste their money and effort. So if you intend to make PDF availble in on a Website Mac's will not be able to use them. They will have to download them look at them or fill them out the send them Back in.
Fortunately there is Nice fellow schubert from Germany make a Pligin That works unfortunate it doen't do button and don't do form , Though he has requested permission from adobe to do so. They refuse.

7. Re: Can I add a button to my PDF that allows users to save it?
DVDmike Dec 12, 2012 1:49 PM (in response to Phillip Jones)The war wages on between Mac and Adobe.....We are just going to have to add a button in the web page to download our file I guess.
