Flash Player will not install

I have downloaded flash player on my iMac running 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion).  It opens the flash player installer > I click on the icon > Flash player initializes, and then nothing!!!

I have not been able to find anything about what the problem is in the discussions.

Please help.

As a testing did you try installing Adobe Flash Player from a different user account on MAC (Root account)
