It's never been possible. Apple famously refused to allow Flash to be installed on Apple devices.

It's been a long war between Apple and Adobe. Apple won.

Read Steve Jobs's thoughts on Flash written in April 2010 which sums up Apple's position.

Two years later, Adobe gave up trying to get Flash on iDevices:
