How do you download Adobe Digital Edition?

I received a Kobo Touch e-reader for Christmas and have figured out how to download two free books from the Kobo web site for practice and now I am trying the public library.  But I am told I need to download Adobe Digital Edition (which is free) and there I am running into problems.  It says it downloads, but nothing.  Nothing further opens and I can click away and nothing.......no screen pops up for me to continue that is suppose to happen next. Please help.

I found this other post today which I have just used & it worked for me as I have Windows XP - hopefully it might work for you aswell.

Check out the post 'I have downloaded adobe digital editions but can't open or launch the program' dated 261212 3.58am by su-anster.  There is a reply by sjpt on 261212 with the links to use.

Click on the download now button to download Digital Editions on your computer.

I did it !!  Success !!  Thanks so much for all the help.  Sorry I didn't share earlier, but I was having too much fun loading new books on my Kobo Touch.

All I had to do was go to the Adobe Digital Edition site on my computer where is was saved, but not installing and click properties and then uncheck the security block button.  My system is Windows Vista which apparently is the only system that causes this problem for the newest addition of the download.

    I've been trying to do the exact same thing since yesterday and its not working for me either.
