Hi,I have  exactly the same problem on exactly the same system XP professional, IE8, except it is a desktop. I even could not download the uninstaller (can't find the page). All the trouble happened while I tried to get to Hotmail login page (it went blank) and one of the suggestion was to uninstall FP. Unfortunately, I unstalled FP from control panel/add.remove program. Double loses in one day! Please help!

I had to download the uninstaller from another computer then came back to XP to uninstall it. Well, after a clean uninstall, re-install was not a problem. Hooray! Many thanks!
