ADE 2.0 XP error

Hello,

I installed ADE 2.0 successfully on my XP SP3 notebook(Acer 5630Z).

When I start the program, an error message would occur, saying something like:

"Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 has encountered a problem and must be closed"

Perhaps there is a Windows service missing, but which?

A lot of people have been having similar issues on XP with ADE2.0 (as well as several other problems with it as well).

I suggest installing the older version 1.7.2  which seems more reliable.

Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

In fact, I was looking for a link to the old version, but all google results landed finally at version 2.0.
