1. Re: uninstall cs4 without causing issues with cs5
JSS1138 Jan 14, 2013 3:20 PM (in response to lisaellensegal)There's no way to prevent issues that I know of. Removing an older version after a new one is installed has caused problems. You may have to reinstall 5, or worst case scenario, wipe the system drive and reinstall everything from Windows on up.
That's not to say things will go badly, just that they might. Be prepared.

2. Re: uninstall cs4 without causing issues with cs5
John T Smith Jan 14, 2013 11:27 AM (in response to lisaellensegal)If you have a USB hard drive, make a full backup of your laptop drive to your external before doing anything... so you may do an easy restore if you have problems, and you don't want to deal with wiping everything and installing new
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
.
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
