sungyle Jan 11, 2013 6:01 PM (in response to ClintGryke)GlintGryke,
That's a nice work flow. Thank you.
I do have my copy of Soundbooth_3_LS7.dmg up in Dropbox plus 3 more copies in my 16TB Lacie drive groups in addition to the "very safe, most current" copy in the Adobe fortress.
I am greedy I went for the assumedly most current (August 2010) copy in Adobe's vault first. I am guilty. For my punishment, I will do a double bottoms up.

kiski Jan 11, 2013 9:05 PM (in response to sungyle)I was very irked to have to upgrade from PS, InD and Illus CS4 to CS6 before Dec 31st ($750!), or buy a Creative Cloud subscription. And now upgrade with every new version.
So, before I was going to install them I thought I'd look for any hint of problems for OSX10.6.8. Then I found this thread...Wow!
I've read every one of the 360 posts. I can't believe it's taking Adobe so long to fix this.
And you expect me to buy a never ending subscription from Adobe??? Doesn't the company realize the wasted time and energy and bad Brand Management that is underway?
Do I continue to use my old CS4 as long as I can?

363. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
sungyle Jan 12, 2013 9:59 AM (in response to kiski)Dear Kiski,
If you are a great photographer and all you need is a few layers to clean up using the select tools, blur tools, text tools, then, CS4 is surprisingly adequate and sufficient.
Personally, I enjoy CS6 for its improved features such as Content-Aware Fill, Refine Edge, Mixer Brush, Bristle Tips and Puppet Warp.
A lousy photographer like me who cash in on old ladies making them look young and beautiful find these technology a great time saving productivity tool.
That's what these 360 posts are about: productivity, as defined in "happily getting more done in less time". The universal truth about productivity is, happy workers are more productive. Adobe is not making us happy. That impacts our productivity. Sure, we toast to it, laugh it off, and get back to work. But that does not mean we are not 'irked' (thank you).
CS6 is a great program. I love it. I am proud of it. Thomas Knol will be proud of it. Russell Brown will be proud of it. And I am sure the two of them will rather the marketing department and security department stay outside the program. I hope they will just use email for marketing and in my Apple case, use Apple keychain for security.
I refuse to be political: but, after a few drinks, the voice in the head gets louder... bring the jobs home, keep the jobs at home.
You will forgive me. I used the wrong mouth wash this morning. Didn't see the label that says Bambu.

Yeah, but there are some glitches that might make it a poorer choice.
Honestly, if your camera is supported by it, Camera Raw 7.0 is the fastest and (IMO) can deliver the best quality conversions.

366. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
rlancemoody Jan 14, 2013 6:41 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)This situation becomes more and more absurd. Today I, when I started AE, I was told my trial had expired. I bought the full version of the Master suite.
Hopefully, some of the folks at Adobe might return to work at some point and maybe take a look at the problems they are causing for their hapless customers all because of their draconian copy protection scheme.
I don't think everyone at Adobe is a *******.
Just whichever manager has learned about this problem and decided to put it on the back burner.
Oh, and whomever runs customer service.

367. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
sungyle Jan 14, 2013 10:05 AM (in response to rlancemoody)This is getting as interesting as it is scary.
The fun part is, this morning, a CNET news item about how Microsoft deals with a bug in IE. This can be used as a standard for measuring customer service performance in difficult situations. Here it is... I quote.
"...Microsoft will fix a zero-day hole in IE today almost a week after this month's regular Patch Tuesday updates.
Discovered late last month, the vulnerability could allow attackers to gain control of a Windows computer running one of the older versions of IE by directing users to malicious Web sites. In response, Microsoft had suggested several workarounds and even offered a "one-click fix" designed to mitigate the problem, but those were considered temporary solutions.
Today's update will fully resolve the issue, according to Microsoft. Scheduled for rollout at 10 a.m. PT, the fix will be available as a critical update, meaning it will automatically be applied to any Windows computers with Automatic Updates turned on. Otherwise, users will need to install the update manually through Windows Update."
Well, I think we have done all we can to help Adobe. We've nice, we've been rough, we've been patient, we've been impatient, we offered, we demanded…
Whether we are a responsible person, or organization, depends on how we respond to challenge.
Perhaps somebody will write to Cnet and ask for help, ask for investigation... Perhaps somebody will go on to Facebook and ask for help... I don't know how kids gets motivated nowadays…
It is so sad.

paul whitehead Jan 14, 2013 8:58 AM (in response to sungyle)Could adobe be having some sort of attack happening in the background that they arent making the public aware of? This issue as been on going for over a month and nothing has even been implimented to even try and address the customers and user community.

rlancemoody Jan 14, 2013 9:53 AM (in response to paul whitehead)I hear that Creative Suite 7 promises 50% less losing of your serial number!
Now even the useless and clueless chat lines are on at least a 20 minute wait.
The customer service telephone lines are an hour+ (though my experience is that you never get through).
Perhaps the manager of customer service is still on vacation (or busy being promoted for saving the company tons of money by offering the worst customer service in the business)?
Some companies take pride in offering reasonable service to their valued customers.
Then there is Adobe.

-
380. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
barry young Jan 14, 2013 6:43 PM (in response to Mark Muse)It's a different issue from that being discussed in this thread, but this failure is known to occur when users delete files that the patch expects. The common case is users delete or move installed plugins. The only way to get back to a good state is to uninstall and reinstall CS6, or put back the files (plugins) that are expected.

uhanepono Jan 14, 2013 7:27 PM (in response to barry young)Barry - Do you have timemachine B/Us? Or if your on a PC some kine B/U? Try go back to a state before you (might have) moved or changed something and choose to "restore" the folder or files or prefernces that got changed to that previous, unchanged, state. That worked for me on a similar issue - Saved me from a reinstall. Maybe you did nothing to cause the message - If you run mac try clear your user (not system) cashe and let adobe repopulate in that case . I don't know about file structures in the case of PC. Adobe - can you look up that error number and see wad-up-wid-dat? It can't be for nothing that they give it a number.
••Frivolous aside** ~This all reminds me a a startrek episode where a totally automated future society gets an error message from the system computer and they need Data (TNG android's name) to fix it before everything goes terribly wrong, as it were.

This is totally unacceptable.
I posted more than a month ago about Adobe Photoshop's problem - not mine, not my OS, not someone else's.
I don't want to hear any more excuses, blames, what my OS system is, did I do this or that!
When I am getting a discount for Adobe's problem!
Adobe is "the best", and they should stand up and admit to this problem and make good on their product!

Stacey Bindman Jan 15, 2013 9:50 AM (in response to sungyle)I totally disagree in rsonse to Sungule talking about the exceptional service Microsoft applies to correct problems.
I had to get a new Hotmail e-mail address, so I thought I was getting a second address. Noooooooooo!
What ended up happening is that I lost my 12 year out Hotmail address, and the new address became the default.
I still get e-mail from my old address, but never heard from Hotmail but once! - Propblem NEVER SOLVED!
Now I get junk SPAM on My Hotmail account advising that I will be losing my messenger account.
So I should sign up for the "free" SKYPE" which will allow me to use my E-mail.
But wait!
I don't have a messenger account, or thought I didn't, and messages don't seem to be "free" if you read the fine-print contract from Microsoft vis-a-vis SKYPE, and sending e-mails.
So why am I getting SCAM mail asking me to signup for SKYPE and be abke to e-mail for free?
Thankfully, a friendofmine informed me that Hotmail is different from Messenger.
So why do I keep getting Messenger e-mail on my Hotmail account, and what is Outlook Express doing on my account, as well.
Who's on First, What's on Second?

That's why I use Mac...

Jeffrey Tranberry Jan 15, 2013 10:41 PM (in response to Noel Carboni)Today we released Photoshop update version 13.0.4 (for Mac perpetual customers) and version 13.1.2 (for Creative Cloud members, Mac and Windows), resolving this licensing issue:
- Trial screen displays when you open Photoshop CS6 - When you open a copy of Photoshop CS6 that you purchased, a notice displays that you can try this product for 30 days
How to get the Update
1. In Photoshop, choose Help > Updates.
2. The Adobe Application Manager will launch. Select Adobe Photoshop CS6 and choose Update.http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2013/01/photoshop-13-0-413-1-2-updat es-now-available.html

sungyle Jan 16, 2013 2:12 AM (in response to Jeffrey Tranberry)It is 2 a.m. in this part of the world...
13.0.4 seems working so far.
After download, install, it's still in CS6 extended trial. Enter the serial number once and it stays in Extended mode with trial windows lifted.
Reload CS6 and it is now in CS6 standard mode showing 13.0.4
Quit.
Call it from LR4, loads properly in standard mode, no 3D, no trial window.
Plug-ins work automatically; saves to proper folders; updates LR4 properly.
So far so good.
Thank you, Adobe. I know you will come through. You are the Rolls Royce.
I must thank everyone here who patiently, humorously, professionally, perseveringly cheering and prodded Adobe towards success.
Cheers.
I know, first thing in the morning, I will run it once more just to be sure, but for now, let's open that bottle of Burrowing Owl. Toast to 13.0.4
See you in the morning.

ClintGryke Jan 16, 2013 2:55 AM (in response to sungyle)Maybe give it a day before really letting your hair down in celebration - at least that is the time it took for me before for the bug to surface. Oh too late, the Burrowing Owl is vanishing.
I'm just going to stick with 13.0.1 for now in any case. Besides fixing the bug in 13.0.2 and 13.0.3, the new update doesn't appear to do anything except fix problems with Mac Retina screens which I don't have.

395. Re: Photoshop CS6 suddenly a trial version of Extended.
Seahedgehog Jan 16, 2013 6:12 AM (in response to sungyle)Well I've done the update to 13.0.4 on my iMac and it seems ok for now. I didn't need to re-enter the serial number CS6 came up when loaded as it used to - not a trial window in sight.
Call me a bit sceptical but I'll wait for a few days before shouting Hurrah and I won't be updating my other Mac (a Macbook Pro) until I'm confident about this update - the Macbook Pro is working happily on 13.0.1 and can stay that way for a day or two.

13.0.4 installed now. I sure hope it fixes this, but I suspect it'll take a week or so before I'm convinced. The trial screen didn't come up every time, just every few days or so.
