How to apply pattern for print purposes?

    TomRomaniuk Community Member

I am wondering. I designed in photoshop with pen tool a shape of pattern which would be printed. Exported to Tiff. But what I need to add is a pattern to add 3d feeling. Actually it will be printed to fabric and I need to add 3d feelings like example here:

I need to recognize two parts- a leaves and rest of the "plant" how to do it?

      please advise, thanks so much.

Not sure what you mean by 'recognize' two parts - but if you want to separate them on two layers, you will first need to Trace the artwork in Illustrator in order to create a vector version of the graphic. After you have Traced it, you need to Expand it, and then select the black areas. That way you can put the black on a different layer than the pattern in the background.

Hope this is what you meant?
