Hi,

I'm running Acrobat 8 and Photoshop Elements 2 on Windows xp and want to upgrade computer and products to Windows 8.  Can I download an upgrade product for a clean install on new machine, or do I have to install original product and upgrade over the top?

Upgrades only require the serial number of the previous product for verification. There is no need to install older versions, nor would it actualyl be possible in your case for technical reasons, things being that your versions are several years old...
